On the evening of October 21, 2025, the 2025 “Future Talents” Industry-Education Integration Week series at Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (hereafter referred to as BiUH) featured a dedicated recruitment event closely aligned with the core industries of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

The event invited a flagship project from  Chengmai County’s Administration of  Laocheng Tech Park, Chengmai County, Hainan Province–the Hainan Free Trade Port Silk Road Cross-border Live Streaming Center and its fully authorized strategic operator, “Hainan Chuangchen Overseas Enterprise Service Co., Ltd.” – onto campus, offering ten categories comprising 30 internship positions. This recruitment initiative specifically targeted technical internship roles, aiming to match the core engineering majors at BiUH and demonstrating the depth and breadth of industry-education integration at a technical level.

Cultivating Fertile Industrial Ground: The Strategic Empowerment of Administration of  Laocheng Tech Park, Chengmai Country

The corporate presentation highlighted the industrial platform anchoring the recruiting companies – Administration of  Laocheng Tech Park, Chengmai County. As a key driver of economic growth in Western Hainan, Administration of  Laocheng Tech Park, Chengmai County, Hainan Province has built a modern industrial system focused on the digital economy, oil services and trade, supply chain logistics, and high-end manufacturing. Within this system, the digital economy sector reported revenues exceeding 200 billion RMB in 2024, with tax contributions reaching 12 billion RMB. It hosts over 17,000 enterprises, is among the first “National Digital Service Export Bases,” successfully secured publication licenses for 85 domestic games in 2024 (ranking 5th nationally), and demonstrates increasingly prominent industrial capacity and innovation vitality. Its developing frontiers like blockchain, game publishing, and digital equipment manufacturing create a pressing demand for computer science and electronic information talents. It is precisely within this vibrant industrial environment that the Hainan Free Trade Port Silk Road Cross-border Live Streaming Center was established as a key pillar for the new city’s digital economy development.

Spotlight on the Core Enterprise: Hainan Chuangchen’s One-Stop Export Solutions

The core enterprise in this recruitment effort – Hainan Chuangchen Overseas Enterprise Service Co., Ltd. – detailed its professional capabilities as a “one-stop full-service provider for overseas brand marketing” to the students. With a significant operational presence in countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, the United States, and the United Kingdom, the company has successfully nurtured numerous highly influential overseas e-commerce brands. It maintains a network of over 30 signed foreign anchors and more than 7,000 overseas influencers, providing robust content creation and communication support for Chinese brands expanding globally. Company representatives stressed Hainan Chuangchen’s mission to “leverage data-driven strategies to elevate Chinese manufacturing from cost competitiveness to brand sovereignty,” a goal that strongly resonated with students aspiring to work on the international stage.

Precise Technical Alignment: Evolving from ‘Technical Learners’ to ‘Industrial Innovators’

The internship positions were designed to meet the digital industry’s need for interdisciplinary talent, specifically addressing the requirements of the technology-intensive cross-border live streaming base environment. They challenge BiUH students to apply core skills like algorithms, hardware, and data analytics to real-world industrial contexts, enabling them to directly utilize their specialized knowledge in solving practical management challenges at the industry forefront, thereby facilitating a transition from “technical executors” to “technological managers.”

For instance, the General Manager Assistant role focused on cross-border live streaming base management – a position blending technology and operations – opens a distinct pathway for BiUH students into emerging industries. This role involves participating in the digital management of the live streaming base. Students can apply their software engineering, system architecture, and data management knowledge to contribute to developing live stream room management systems, equipment monitoring platforms, or supply chain collaboration tools, transforming programming skills into solutions that enhance operational efficiency.

Furthermore, students can leverage expertise in communication principles, embedded systems, and automatic control to engage deeply in selecting, integrating, debugging, and maintaining high-definition camera systems, audio equipment, lighting matrices, and network transmission gear, ensuring a stable and advanced technical environment and acting as the base’s “technical guardians.”

During the subsequent “Expert Talk” segment, corporate guests shared insights on industry trends and analyzed the core competencies and career paths in cross-border live streaming, drawing on Hainan Chuangchen’s practical experiences with platforms like TikTok.
The final “On-site Interview” session proceeded in a structured yet dynamic atmosphere. Pre-screened candidates participated in efficient, full-English interviews with company representatives, taking a crucial step toward their professional futures.

Zhang Qiao, Head of the University-Enterprise Cooperation Department at BiUH, noted that this collaboration with Administration of  Laocheng Tech Park,Chengmai County, and Hainan Chuangchen marks the first event in the BiUH “Future Talents” Industry-Education Integration Week series. The subsequent three events, running through November, will offer nearly a hundred high-quality positions. By bringing premium industrial resources and high-growth enterprises onto campus, BiUH not only forges high-quality internship and employment pathways for students but also ensures its talent development efforts resonate in harmony with the growth of leading Hainan Free Trade Port industries like the “Digital Economy” and “Cross-border Trade.” The university will continue to strengthen strategic partnerships with leading technology firms and quality industrial platforms, working together to cultivate and supply future talents equipped to thrive in international competition for the Hainan Free Trade Port’s development.

While fully utilizing traditional disclosure channels, BiUH actively expanded the communication functions of new media platforms such as WeChat public accounts and short videos. In particular, for key activities such as the opening ceremony and major events, new media was leveraged to maximize information coverage, achieving positive social responses and feedback from faculty and students.

At the same time, BiUH is fully aware that its current information disclosure work still falls short of the goal of “high-level, standardized” development and the expectations of faculty, staff, and the public. In the next phase, BiUH will adopt a problem-oriented approach, continuously optimize its information disclosure mechanisms, and focus on improving the scientific rigor, standardization, and effectiveness of its information disclosure work.

(2) Main Issues

– Shortcomings in Departmental Implementation and Platform Development

Some functional departments at BiUH still show insufficient attention to information disclosure, with awareness and proactive execution needing improvement. Certain information disclosure platforms have incomplete sections, lack comprehensive coverage of core content, and provide insufficient details, with some information not updated in a timely manner, affecting both the timeliness and practicality of disclosure. In addition, interdepartmental execution and coordination in information disclosure need to be further strengthened, and the professionalization and systematization of the disclosure platforms require improvement.

-Underdeveloped IT Applications and Foundational Support

The mechanisms for promoting information disclosure through IT at BiUH are not yet fully mature, and both technical support and supporting processes need optimization. Currently, information disclosure channels are relatively fragmented; traditional methods (such as bulletin boards and paper documents), new media platforms (such as WeChat public accounts and short videos), and emerging technical tools (such as information query systems) are not well integrated, and a multi-channel, coordinated disclosure system has not yet been established. Furthermore, the institutional framework for information disclosure needs further refinement, and the professional capability, technical literacy, and interdepartmental collaboration of staff must continue to be strengthened to provide a more solid foundation for effective information disclosure.

(3) Measures for Future Improvement

-Strengthen Awareness and Clarify Responsibilities

Continuously deepen all departments’ understanding of the importance of information disclosure, effectively enhancing political awareness and sense of responsibility. Designate department heads as the primary responsible persons for information disclosure, ensuring clear responsibilities, assigned tasks, and accountability at each position. Regularly organize focused studies and discussions on relevant policies and regulations, guiding staff to plan and implement information disclosure from the perspective of BiUH’s overall governance. Through document circulation, thematic meetings, and professional training, institutional promotion and capacity-building activities will be conducted on a regular basis, further strengthening proactive disclosure awareness and continuously improving professional skills and execution capabilities.

-Innovate Disclosure Methods and Expand Coverage

Actively explore new pathways and formats for information disclosure, continuously broaden channels, and strictly implement the principle of “disclose what should be disclosed, and disclose as much as possible.” Fully leverage the communication advantages of new media platforms, including WeChat public accounts and short video platforms, to enrich the dimensions and presentation formats of disclosed content, enhancing coverage and influence. Strengthen interactive communication with faculty, staff, and the public, maintain smooth channels for feedback and supervision, proactively respond to societal concerns, and promote the coordinated improvement of information disclosure, governance, and public service capabilities at BiUH.

-Accelerate Platform Development and Improve Quality and Efficiency of Information Disclosure

Draw on advanced experiences from peer institutions in building and managing information disclosure portals and adapt them to BiUH’s actual conditions to continuously improve the platform system. Regularly solicit feedback from faculty and students on content and format through online surveys, focus group discussions, and other channels, and promptly optimize platform sections and information presentation. Further standardize the information release and review process, strengthen management systems, increase investment in human and material resources, and improve technical support and content assurance mechanisms, promoting the development of information disclosure toward institutionalization, standardization, and intelligent operation.

In the award list for the 2025 “Higher Education Press Cup” National College Mathematical Contest in Modeling (Hainan Division), announced on September 28th, two student teams from our university stood out, both winning Third Prizes in the undergraduate group. This demonstrates our students’ solid mathematical foundation, interdisciplinary modeling capabilities, and team spirit. It is worth mentioning that this marks another provincial-level achievement for our students, following the excellent results obtained by our university(2024 award-winning students: ZHU Yurun, HE Yi, QIAO Dengfeng)in last year’s competition.

Award List

DENG Zifeng, CHEN Jingtong, LI Haoran (Hainan Division Third Prize)

FU Yuhan, HE Sibo, CHEN Yinuo (Hainan Division Third Prize)

The National College Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM), organized by the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, is one of the largest and most influential disciplinary competitions for university students in China. Held annually, participating teams must independently complete the entire process – from modeling and computer implementation to thesis writing – over three consecutive days, addressing practical problems in fields such as science, engineering, economic management, and humanities and social sciences.

The 2025 “Higher Education Press Cup” National College Mathematical Contest in Modeling (Hainan Division) attracted 473 teams from 16 universities. The competition was held from September 4th to September 7th for both undergraduate and vocational college groups. In this intense four-day marathon, our students ultimately secured this honor through close teamwork.

Below, let’s follow the preparation journey of these two teams:

Extreme Sprint with Only Ten Hours of Sleep in Three Days

“Over four days and three nights, we slept less than ten hours in total, but that contest where we all gave it our all ended up being an absolute blast and one of our best college memories.” Recalling the recently concluded contest, student DENG Zifeng said it felt like the team had gone through a tense yet fulfilling long dream: “We chose a problem concerning ‘silicon carbide thickness measurement.’ The whole process felt like leveling up in a game.”

“On day one, we started with the most basic optical interference model, building the theoretical ‘blueprint.’ On day two, we turned the model into a runnable algorithm. Seeing the fitted curve match the data for the first time gave us hope. On day three, strange peaks appeared in the data, and our initial method failed. We decisively switched to a more complex multi-beam model, debugging overnight and optimizing repeatedly.”

Records of student preparation process

“The most exciting moment was at the very end when the curve from our new model almost perfectly overlapped with the experimental data – we nearly shouted out loud in the lab. At that moment, all the fatigue felt worth it. From theory to practice, from algorithm to generating plots, from an R_score of just a few hundredths to several tenths, we challenged ourselves again and again.

These four days taught us not only how to translate complex physical problems into mathematics and code but also the power of teamwork. The late-night brainstorming sessions, repeated debugging and corrections, the cheers when the results converged… These moments are more memorable than the final answer itself. Although the results are out and might not have met our highest expectations, as the saying goes, all regrets pave the way for the future! We will carry this experience with us and continue exploring possibilities.” (DENG Zifeng, CHEN Jingtong, LI Haoran)

Three-Night-and-Four-Day Modeling Marathon

“The four-day competition felt more like a real-world ‘drill’ in teamwork. We deeply realized: there is no perfect individual, only a perfect team. When facing challenges like ‘difficulties deriving multi-beam interference conditions’ or ‘TMM fitting convergence issues,’ we always sat together, drawing, discussing, and trial-and-error testing. Often, inspiration from one idea could make the whole team see the light.” Team members FU Yuhan, HE Sibo, and CHEN Yinuo reflected on the preparation process, stating: “The focus of our teammates, the joy of solving a difficult problem, the relief after submitting the paper… These moments made us understand that while the competition result is important, what is even more precious is the rapport built during the process, the problem-solving skills honed, and the perseverance shown under pressure.”

Once again, congratulations to all the award-winning students! May you continue to maintain your passion for exploration and courage to tackle challenges, going further and achieving more success on your future paths in scientific research and innovation!
